Hey all,
I created this blog to document my adventures abroad in Tajikistan for the spring semester. For those who are thinking where the heck is that see the map below. They speak a dialect of Persian that has been influenced by Russian. All of my classes will be in the Iranian dialect of Persian(Farsi). But when I am out and about and with my host family I will be exposed to the Tajikistan dialect. The host family I will be living with will have a pet cat, a 17year son, 25 year old daughter, the husband is a teacher and the wife stays at home. I am very excited to meet them.I have to submit 3-4 500 word blog entries to American Councils as part of my study abroad program. So I thought why not open it to my friends and family. Hopefully this will keep me from stalking around on Facebook and will give others without the opportunity to see what I have been up to. I have not left yet. I have an orientation in DC Monday evening where I will meet some of the coordinators and the other students. We will all be taking off from Dulles around 1910 on Feb1st. Hopefully the weather won't be too much of a problem. I am really excited to go! I plan on keeping up the blog a minimum weekly. I am not sure what my schedule will be like or my access to Internet. But I do know when we land in Dushanbe they have scheduled a busy week for us before my classes start on Feb7th.
